DZL Construction Pty Ltd (ABN 53 698 419 313) expects every supplier, manufacturer and their sub-contractors that provide goods or services to us (“Suppliers”) to meet the standards in this Code. It supports our Modern Slavery & Ethical Sourcing Statement and applies in addition to all applicable laws. Where this Code and local law differ, the higher standard applies.
1. Labour and human rights
- No forced labour. No forced, bonded, indentured or involuntary prison labour. Workers must be free to leave employment after reasonable notice, and must not have to lodge deposits or surrender identity documents.
- No child labour. No workers below the legal minimum age or below 15, whichever is higher; no hazardous work for anyone under 18.
- Freely chosen employment and freedom of association and collective bargaining where lawful.
- No discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, sex, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation or other protected attribute.
- Wages and hours. Pay at least the legal minimum wage, provide legally required benefits, and keep working hours within legal limits.
2. Health and safety
Provide a safe and healthy workplace, including adequate controls, training, protective equipment, sanitation, and safe accommodation where provided.
3. Environment
Comply with applicable environmental laws and permits, manage waste and emissions responsibly, and work to reduce environmental impact.
4. Business ethics
Conduct business with integrity. No bribery, corruption, facilitation payments, fraud or money laundering. Protect confidential information and respect intellectual property.
5. Management, monitoring and remediation
Suppliers must take reasonable steps to ensure their own suppliers and sub-contractors meet equivalent standards, keep records demonstrating compliance, and allow us (or our representatives) to verify compliance, including by assessment or audit on reasonable notice. Where we identify a gap we will generally work with the Supplier on a corrective-action plan; serious or unremedied breaches may result in suspension or termination of supply.
6. Raising concerns
Anyone with concerns about a breach of this Code in our supply chain can contact us at admin@dzlconstruction.yesweb.com.au. Reports are treated confidentially and we do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
